Event Check-In for Box Office
Box Office check-ins made simple, sortable, and staff-friendly.
Event Check-In for Box Office adds a staff-friendly WooCommerce check-in desk with a single shortcode, event filtering, configurable attendee columns, and an order “notes” field for on-site details.
Tested up to: WordPress 7.1, WooCommerce 11
Overview
Event Check-In for Box Office turns your WooCommerce orders into a clean, staff-ready check-in desk for ticketed events that are sold using Box Office.
Add one shortcode to a page and your team gets an event selector plus a searchable attendee table, designed for quick entry management at the door. You can check in attendees with one click, display only the customer/order details you actually need, and even show internal notes (like seat number, VIP details, or special instructions) right in the list.
It’s built to fit neatly into a WooCommerce workflow: events are Woo products, attendees come from orders, and staff access is controlled by WordPress capabilities.
How it works
- Insert the shortcode manually or use the Block integration onto any page or post.
- Open the page or post from a device to be used at your check-in desk.
- Select the event product(s) to check in.
- Find the attendee/customer by name, email, avatar, or ticket number and click "check-in."

Frequently Asked Questions
How does check-in work?
Your staff loads the check-in page (where the shortcode is placed), selects one or more events, and uses the attendee table to mark attendees as checked in. Check-in status is stored in order/ticket-related metadata so it persists.
Can I check in multiple events at once?
Yes. You can select multiple events and view a combined attendee list for faster check-in when you’re running parallel events, multiple rooms, or multi-day schedules.
How does the plugin know what an “event” is?
Events are WooCommerce products. You can control which products appear using:
- Product categories, and/or
- Ticket-only mode (show only products flagged as ticket products in your Box Office setup)
What customer/order details can I show in the attendee table?
You can toggle columns on/off in settings. Available columns include:
- User avatar
- Username
- Email address
- First name/last name
- Order notes (internal event notes)
What are the “notes” shown in the table?
This plugin adds an order meta field named notes in the WooCommerce order admin. It’s intended for internal event info (room number, access instructions, staff-only notes, etc.). If the Notes column is enabled, those notes appear in the check-in table.
Who can access the check-in page?
By default, the interface is restricted to authorized staff via WordPress capabilities (WooCommerce managers/admins). This prevents attendees/customers from viewing the list.
Does it support barcode/QR code scanning?
The plugin focuses on fast manual check-in via a searchable/sortable table. (If you want scanner support, that’s usually an add-on feature and depends on your ticket format and data available.)
Will this slow down my site?
For typical event sizes, it’s designed to be fast and practical. For very large events, performance depends on hosting and the number of orders/attendees loaded at once—using category filters and multi-event selection thoughtfully helps keep the list lean.
Can I match the check-in page to my brand?
Yes. The plugin includes color/styling settings and supports custom CSS, so you can align the check-in UI with your theme.
Does it modify WooCommerce checkout or customer emails?
No. It’s an admin/staff workflow tool that uses existing WooCommerce data. It doesn’t change checkout by default.
Is attendee data sent to any third-party service?
No. The plugin operates inside WordPress/WooCommerce and uses your existing database. Nothing is sent externally by default.
Where do I put the shortcode?
Create a page like “Event Check-In” and add the shortcode in the page content. Restrict the page to staff (capabilities/roles) as needed, and avoid linking it publicly if you don’t want it discoverable.
How does licensing work?
Licensed builds include a Licensing tab under WooCommerce → Settings → Event Check-In. Until a valid license is activated, the check-in output may show a license notice instead of rendering.
